A very interesting species of Achillea usually growing
on sand dune habitats, much rarer on other substrata.
Flowering unique individual photographed in my garden from
Floresti, Cluj county in June 2005 obtained from a small fragment of
sterile shoot collected with dr. Gh. Groza in Macin Mountains above
Greci village, Tulcea county in August 2001. The small patch which
belongs to this species there was found on Carboniferous clay
dark shales far away from any sand dune areas.

In the four photographs below there is a comparison between the
clear ochroleucous hue of the flowers of Achillea
ochroleuca (left) and Achillea distans (right) which
like other common species like Achillea millefolium and
Achillea crithmifolia has pure white flowers.
